EVAN & DEAN

Evan & Dean was born out of a conversation in 2005 between Raymond Boutet and Lyle Reimer, both of whom were discussing passion in life at a small café in Vancouver, Canada. When the duo realized that designing was their shared ultimate passion, Boutet and Reimer launched Evan & Dean, naming the label after their two young nephews.

The aesthetic of Evan & Dean is a study in contrasts. Boutet -- who also works as a nurse, received his degree in Fashion Design and Technology from Kwantlen University College and is drawn to the architectural form. Reimer – a M.A.C. make-up and mixed media artist -- is lured by the artsy-eclectic.

Together, these seemingly different philosophies are married together in perfect harmony, allowing them to create tailored pieces with modern, couture detailing and a funky edge that appease a wide range of style palettes. Using luxurious fabrics and material sourced from France and Italy, each garment is hand-crafted in their Vancouver-based studio in limited amounts to preserve its sartorial uniqueness. For both Boutet and Reimer, it is about finding balance and compromise in life and design.

Evan & Dean continues to be a front-runner favorite in the Canadian fashion community and is quickly breaking into the international scene. Their designs have appeared in a number of Canadian and U.S. magazines, including FASHION, FLARE, Preston Catalog, GENLUX, Elle, WWD, Zink, Spade and many others and has been pulled for Scarlett Johannson, Jessica Alba, and Halle Berry.
