Diane Jones Konihowski
Dr. Jones Konihowski is a three-time Olympian (1972, 1976, 1980) in the sport of track and field. Her gold medal in the pentathlon at the 1978 Commonwealth Games ranked her number one in the world. Dr. Jones Konihowski was Canada's Female Athlete of the Year in 1975 & 1978, and she is a Member of the Order of Canada. She was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame (1980), the Canadian Olympic Sports Hall of Fame (1996), and the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame (2002). She holds an Honorary Doctorate of Law from the University of Saskatchewan and Brock University, and was named to the University of Saskatchewan’s 100 Most Influential Alumni in 2007. Dr. Jones Konihowski worked in the electronic and print media for over 20 years, and has volunteered on numerous national non profit Boards since 1986.
