Catherine O’Hara
Catherine O’Hara first got into acting, writing, improvising, and directing with Toronto’s Second City Theatre. She then created the comedy show “SCTV,” which became incredibly successful, winning O’Hara an Emmy Award and four additional Emmy nominations for her writing on the show.
O’Hara won the 2007 National Board of Review Award for Supporting Actress for her work in Christopher Guest’s comedy, For Your Consideration. She has also worked with Guest as a member of the ensemble casts of A Mighty Wind, Best in Show, and Waiting for Guffman. Catherine has also been cast as voices for characters in Nightmare Before Christmas, Over the Hedge, and Monster House.
Her earlier film work includes After Hours, Heartburn, Beetlejuice, and the first two Home Alone movies. O'Hara also worked on Home Fries, The Life Before This,
Orange County, Last of the High Kings, and Game 6. She can currently be seen in Penelope alongside Reese Witherspoon and and Christina Ricci and will soon be heard in Spike Jonzes' Where the Wild Things Are.
